1.) a list of habits 📝 to assure victory from Naval Ravikant
My habits don’t stray far from this list when I'm at my best. Traveling + Being in Nature are the only additions I’d tack on.
Does this list resonate with you? Think about how you’d adjust your own list and then ask yourself: How much do your real habits overlap with this list?
What can be cut? What can be added?
2.) a new rule ⏳ about time from John Mayer
How many times do you wish something was over? Even the good stuff. Just so you can get on to the next thing.
John Mayer has an idea: Never wish for less time.
Good, bad, happy, sad, exciting, boring, blissful, excruciating. It’s all fleeting. The more you can be there with it - whatever the moment brings - the more you truly experience life.
Reminds me of the Thich Nhat Hanh quote about washing dishes (highly recommended).
3.) a blog post ⛰️ on enjoying the view from where you are.
Shout out to AJ for sharing this post from Bobby Hundreds with me.
Here’s a quote I enjoyed:
For the first time since I started climbing my mountain (my career), I am enjoying the view. When I put down my tools and backpack, when I stop worrying about what next to prepare over the fire, as I sojourn from planning the next steps in the expedition, I take in the sights. The craggy cliffs below look much softer from here. The steep passages seem shorter than I remember. I can see deeper into the horizon as its on my level. I always told myself that I have to work hard now so that I can enjoy my life later. News flash, I’m not getting any younger. At 44, my life IS later. If not today, when? -Bobby Hundreds, STAND STILL
Most of us work hard in our careers for some distant goal - eyes always fixed squarely on the horizon. But when was the last time you took a step back and appreciated what you’ve done already? The magic you’ve already created in your life.
I’d be willing to bet your 18-year-old self would be blown away by what you’ve done.
Take a beat. Soak it in.
4.) a quote 💬 on having it all.
There is nothing quite so liberating than looking around and realizing you have it all.
