1.) an idea 💡 on not going at it alone.
If you’re struggling - maybe it’s with a habit, maybe it’s with a goal, maybe it’s with feeling good about life in general - consider not going at it alone.
What might that look like?
You could hire a coach (I have both a life coach & triathlon coach, two of the best decisions I’ve made).
You could recruit a friend or group to join you on your journey.
You could ask someone to have coffee and open up about what’s going on.
I spent a lot of years trying to muscle my way through issues that got resolved almost instantly when I found the right person or community. And so even though we manly men often love white-knuckling our way through challenges…don’t go at it alone.
2.) a master class on love & happiness ❤️ from the Dalai Lama & Desmond Tutu
The Book of Joy by the Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu & Douglas Abrams.
Despite coming from radically different backgrounds and religions, these two legends of world politics are absolute BESTIES. It’s at times hilarious and frequently adorable.
In addition to the cuteness, there are countless gems of wisdom on love, happiness & compassion from two men who have mastered their minds. It’s a lovely read.
3.) a tweet 😎 on charisma.
4.) a quote 🗞️ from Taleb to apply to your news intake.
Modernity widened the distance between the sensational and the relevant.
Nassim Nicholas Taleb, Antifragile
Of the information you absorb each day, how much is truly relevant? How much is sensational, created to elicit a reaction and bring you back for more?
Could you redirect this mental energy to something more fulfilling?

I have 2 asks for you this week:
Find a few minutes to reflect on your year so far. What are you proud of? What do you want to prioritize before Dec 31?
Be fire and wish for the wind 🔥
With love,
Chris
