🔥🎁 a holiday reflection
#72: a weekly 4-item newsletter created to inspire dads to use the challenges of fatherhood as fuel for building an incredible life & an antifragile mind.
Welcome to the 72nd edition of the antifragile 4 🔥. And a very Happy New Year.
I write to you during a brief nap break (about to be cut short, it seems, by our youngest) at the tail-end of a family holiday trip.
For this reason, this week will consist of a simple reflection. Fun things to come (I just discovered Montaigne, get excited), but for the moment, I wish you a wonderful start to 2026. May it be your most fascinating yet.

One of life’s greatest challenges is taking your own advice.
But thanks to a coy reminder from my brother about this publication’s final newsletter of the year, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed just about every inch of madness this holiday has served up.
And madness it was.
Sickness everywhere, house-hopping with toddlers, late nights, paper planes, heapings of white chocolate mix, routines turned to mincemeat. Nothing everyone else wasn’t working with. But madness nonetheless.
But what was misery during Thanksgiving turned to (mostly) joy during Christmas. All thanks to acceptance, gratitude, disconnecting & letting go.
I should really take my own advice more often.
Maybe they’d even work outside the holidays…

Alright, a crying baby calls ✌🏻. Consider me accepting of that.
With love,
Chris
